ABOUT ME

Before I embarked on photography, I spent years working as a professional dancer and model, later moving into production, choreographing shows and travelling the world on many varied jobs. It was only when I finally settled down to begin a family, I realised things needed to change. Hence my decision to become a photographer and this journey still continues now. Being a mum to two boys aged 8 & 9, I know only too well just how fast time flies. It feels like my boys were babies only yesterday. Initially I wanted to photograph children, so I borrowed all my friends kids to practise on; they were delighted to oblige – getting free pictures of their kids in the process! I was forever sticking a camera in my boys faces too. Straight away I knew I’d found something I loved. Then I discovered newborn photography.

I adore shooting newborns and love the creativity it requires. No newborn shoot is the same. Every baby is unique and it really is an incredible and rewarding experience on so many different levels. Welcoming new parents to the studio and capturing those precious moments for every family is something I will never tire of. Being a mother has given me an insight into how to get the most out of children and babies, paying close attention to the smallest of details. This can make the difference between a good photograph and one you will treasure forever. I am continually being inspired by other brilliant photographers and like most of them, I am very critical of my own work and always feel I have so much more to learn. Even now, I often book myself onto other renowned photographers workshops just to get new inspiration and test my abilities.
