Frequently Asked Questions
I recommend you schedule your maternity session between weeks 28-36. At this stage of your pregnancy you have a nice round bump, I don’t recommend scheduling maternity sessions after 36 weeks since many clients can become uncomfortable posing, standing, laying or sitting for a long period of time. Plus if you’re booking in advance, you never know when baby will decide to make their appearance! I generally do not recommend sessions scheduled before 28 weeks, as typically moms are not showing enough to have that beautiful baby belly . Generally I let my clients decide the right time for them.
You can choose to have the photo shoot at my studio in Gerrards Cross, SL9
or choose an outdoor location within 10 miles of my studio. I also have some great local secluded outdoor venues I can recommend.
Please bring your favourite clothing that you would like to use in your session. Soft, floaty and feminine clothing in neutral colours or pastels photograph very well and show off your growing belly beautifully. Popular clothing items are – bandeau tops, lingerie, form fitting dresses and flowing maxi dresses and lacy/sheer robes. Always a good idea to bring a black bra and matching knickers for some tasteful low lighting shots.
Hats, jewellery or accessories are great for styling and making your session unique and personal to you.
I have a few dresses that you are welcome to use for your shoot and I have fabric that works well wrapped around your bump.
Not at all. All the maternity sessions are customized and tailored to each individual client.

Simple clothes work best. Good fitting jeans and a nice plain T- shirt/jumper or trousers and a simple good fitting shirt. No logos or stripes please.
If the weather is unsuitable on the day of the shoot then we can reschedule at no extra cost or switch to an indoor shoot.
Always welcome to bring the family dog to an outdoor photoshoot. However only well behaved dogs can be photographed in the studio.
I require 24 hours notice for any cancellation, I will of course reschedule your session to another day convenient to us both.
Yes there is plenty of parking in the driveway.
I book in one hour and a half for your session
Your final gallery of approximately 50-60 beautiful images will be ready to view between two and three weeks after your session. I will email you the login details to your own password protected online gallery which you can view through the website. You will then have 14 days to select your photos and choose your package.
Try not to wear tight underwear and clothing on the day of the shoot to prevent marks on your skin. Prepare your hair and make up before you get to the session or you can book my recommended local hair and make up artist. The deposit for booking your session is £150, this can get you Collection One or you can upgrade to Collection Two after your shoot. The minimum spend is Collection One at £150. Booking a maternity shoot automatically gives you 10% off a Newborn shoot.
I have thought long and hard about what sort of service I would like to receive if I were you – the customer. I would definitely like the opportunity to choose my package or products in the comfort of my own home. In our current busy lives , we all seem to have less time than ever – so I just send you a link by email to select your pictures within 14 days. There is no returning for a viewing, no hard sell and absolutely no pressure. I personally would hate a pushy sales appointment. I have tried really hard to display lots of amazing wall art products on the website to help you chose the perfect size and the right products for your wall.
